The TAMS Farm Safety course is deemed satisfactory for the Farm Safety Training course requirements set out in the TAMS II Terms and conditions and complies with the requirement for government grant applications. 

The course educates Farmers and workers about the practical and efficacious methodologies to avoid and reduce farm accidents and hazards.

TAMS FARM SAFERY COURSE

Aim: The Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) farm safety course aims to deliver an extensive range of information on farming safety and code of practice to farmers, horticultural workers, and other miscellaneous farm workers. 

Delivery:  The TAMS Farm Safety course is delivered by an FRS approved tutorThe course is delivered using classroom-based tutorials, documents and materials.   

What award do I receive? After successful completion of the TAMS Farm Safety course, each learner will receive a certificate of completion from FRS.   

Course Duration: The TAMS Farm Safety course is delivered over 1 half day  from 10am -2pm

Entry Requirements: Candidates must be over 16 years old and please bring your Herd number on the day

Course Venue: The course is held in Castleblayney Community Enterprise Centre, Dublin Road, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan A75 WF72

  • Introduction to Health & Safety Legislation 
  • Viewing & Discussion of Farmer survivor stories 
  • Ways to reduce Farm accidents 
  • Risk assessment reports & code of practice documents All Safety Standards and practices when working with livestock, machinery, tractors, and buildings 

 Accreditation 

After successful completion of the TAMS Farm Safety course, each learner will receive a certificate of completion, which is valid for 5 years.
