This course is an ideal starting point for those who have little or no experience of using Microsoft Access to create Databases, as it introduces basic Database concepts & also helps to develop a good working knowledge of Microsoft Access, right up to ICDL level.  Microsoft Access is one of the Microsoft Office software programs that allows you store your data, and participants on this course will learn about key database concepts such as indexes, relationships, primary keys and the difference between data and information, as well as the individual attributes behind both.  This course has a good mixture of theory and practical work as participants will also learn to create and design Microsoft Access databases, work with and create tables, queries, forms and reports from scratch

Microsoft ICDL– Database (Access)

Aim: The ICDL Access Database Module aims to teach participants how to plan, design, create and manipulate and query databases. It will also teach them how to use Access to generate reports and produce input user forms.

Delivery:  The Microsoft ICDL Database Module is delivered by an Irish Computer Society (ICS) approved tutor. The class is structured with the use of a power-point presentation, tutorials, workbook material and each participant will have hands-on computer practice.

What award do I receive? At the end of the Microsoft Database Access Module, it is optional for each learner (at an extra cost) to sit the ICDL Database Access Exam. If successful each candidate will receive an ICS-skills awarded certificate.

Course Duration: The Microsoft Database Access Module is run over 4 mornings 10am-1pm or alternatively over 4 evenings from 6.45-9.45pm. This course can be run as an individual module or as part of the ICDL certification (7 modules in total).

Entry Requirements: Good command of the English language. Intermediate level of computer literacy.

Accreditation
