Patient Handling
Aim: The Patient Handling and moving course aims to provide participants with the knowledge, skill and competence to effectively deliver such techniques within the workplace.
Delivery: Our Patient Handling course is delivered by HSE Approved training tutors. The course is classroom based using power-point presentation with a practical demonstration & practice by learners.
What award do I receive? After successful completion of the Patient Handling & moving programme you will be issued with a certificate of attendance, which is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.
Course Duration The Patient Handling course is split over 2 sessions from 6.30 – 10pm each evening
Entry Requirements: Face mask
How much does it cost? The course fee is €95. We accept cash or card payments
Course Venue: The course is held in Castleblayney Community Enterprise Centre, Dublin Road, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan A75 WF72
Course Details
Topics covered include:
- Health & Safety legislation
- Rolling the patient in bed – sitting up
- Moving the Patient around the bed using slide sheets
- Sitting the patient on the side of the bed – sitting to standing
- Moving the patient from the bed to a chair – Walking the patient
- Movement of patient from bed to a trolley
- Use of hoist/ slings
Accreditation
After successful completion of the Patient Handling & moving programme, all learners will be issued with a Patient Handling and Moving Certificate of Attendance, which is valid for 2 years from the date of the training course.
